Well, today started off to be a dreary day! I did get to sleep in a tad this morning. Didn't arise until 7:30 when Ray called to let me know he was on the way home. We had company over last night and he'd got up at 7 am to let the little dogs out, so they didn't wake me barking with an emergency trip to the bathroom, LOL It's pouring down rain and now the temperature has dropped to 52 degrees. That's 11 C. for those that don't use the Fahrenheit method of measure. Ray and I are looking at buying a new "hide-a-bed" for the living room and giving the old leather furniture away. I think we're going to get two recliners to go with it, so my living room should appear much larger when we do from what it is now. Ray and I both have a tendency to buy furniture and accessories when we don't really have the room for it. So I think in redoing the whole living room we're going to pack up quite a bit of the "nick-knacks" that we buy and cut it down to a minimalist decor. I do want to get the two new pictures we got while down in Gulf Shores,AL put up that in itself will take quite a bit of clutter up. Finding what to do with the old painting I had there will become the problem. Now most of our stuff we tend to give away when we do this type of thing, and I've already got a good home for the leather couch and love-seat. I'm still unsure what to do about the two wing back chairs though. They're in fantastic shape and are broyhill with the queen Anne legs on them.(they're close to 20 years old, but the good type that broyhill used to make) The people we're giving the rest of the furniture to doesn't have room for this stuff. Oh well, I'm sure I can find someone to take the stuff, that's usually NOT a problem, LOL
In the next couple of weeks I'm thinking of re-painting the living room. When we painted it 3 years ago it was supposed to have been a "dusty rose" but it came put "pepto bismol pink", the LR is a LOT of trouble to paint, so even though we both hated the color, we've left there for the past three years, so now is a time for change. I'm thinking about a sage green, and a light sage green too, no more dark colors for me! We have entirely to much rain and being closed in the house during fall and winter for that. I'm having to find something though that the cocktail table and end tables and grandfather clock will look good against, they're cherry wood with that reddish hint to them, so I think this time, I'm getting one of those little tiny jars of paint, put on the wall and then move a piece of furniture in front of it before doing the whole room. No more mistakes like the last one for me. I really do hate picking out new furniture, I love accessory shopping, but furniture itself is a pain, finding something you really like, and can live with for years isn't easy. I don't know how some of these people do it, just go in and buy the first set that looks nice and have it delivered. I guess if you've got a room 25 feet wide by 40 feet long that's possible to do, but I'm working with one 22 by 14, plus having a fire place at one end of the 14, so that limits me to what I can do. Humm, decisions decisions. Well, if you happen to read all my ramblings today, I hope you have a great one, and if you don't feel the need to read it all, that's ok too, This blog has been more me thinking things on "paper" than anything, LOL
